The government spends millions gathering data but did you know a mass of it is available to you for free? And you can even view local data using the ‘Neighbourhood’ tool on the site to search by ward and postcode. So if you need income data for households within certain postcodes its there or if you want to look at the ethnic make-up of a county its there.
The search tools are very powerful and if all else fails there is a very efficient helpline service which will tell you if the info you are looking for is available; and if it is they will usually send you an e-mail link to the relevant spot on the site.
